Do you know the definition of the word sated?

Sated:  To satisfy fully; to satisfy to excess; to provide with more than enough.

I understand this  now that there is a 2 month old baby in the house.  When Patricia is done feeding Ezekiel, he is the very picture of sated.  Radiant with satisfaction, so content he barely moves…

 But I have stilled and quieted my soul;
   like a weaned child with its mother,
   like a weaned child is my soul within me.

           Psalm 131:2

Did you know God wants you to feel that same way?  His greatest desire is to satisfy you fully, to satisfy you to excess!  The Bible speaks of a God who loves His people,  who wants to spend time with us.  He invites us to sit down for a meal together. He invites us to take off our heavy backpacks and rest a while.  God invites us to stop pretending…to fess up to our true selves…He can’t wait to wash away all the stains we just can’t get rid of no matter how hard we try.

God invites us to believe in him and obey His Word–and when we do, He promises to make a home for us with Him, forever.  God compares Himself to a man in love, who willingly gives everything He has to His beloved–even when she says NO again and again.

The Bible says “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James. 4:8)  It’s not an empty promise.  God doesn’t want you to be empty.  He wants to satisfy you fully, to provide you with more than enough.  There is no need to look anywhere else.
